Although she doesn't have the biggest filmography, Lynn Shelton is without a doubt one of the greatest filmmakers of the past twenty years. Best known for her peculiar brand of Seattle-based mumblecore, Lynn Shelton's work ranges from directing comedies, heavy dramas, as well as fantastic TV shows (GLOW, Little Fires Everywhere). Shelton has a knack for writing deeply realistic character drama and evoking amazing performances from her actors. In this episode, we try to unpack her style and why her direction is so well-suited for actor-focussed productions.
